The first floor has three bedrooms, a spacious hall with a typical “salamandra” (wood heater), as well as a bathroom.
From this floor, one can access the garden and the wood-burning oven, where people used to make traditional dishes and pastries, which can still be used today.

There is also an “eira”, where people used to prepare corn and other
cereals.

A roaming herd of goats takes care of the woods cleaning.

The surroundings of the property are ideal for short strolls in the
woods and/or by the river, where one can bath in the Spring and in the Summer.

Location and distance

From the tarmac road linking Barril do Alva to Vila Cova de Alva there is a 1.2km dirt road to access the property. From Barril do Alva you can reach the IP3 motorway in 15 minutes and then Lisbon in 2h15m and Oporto in 1h15m via the main highway A1.
