Further afield, the cities of Coimbra, Porto and Lisbon are a comfortable drive, as is the Atlantic coast, with its great beaches and renowned surfing. It is worth noting that this region is increasingly popular as a venue for rural tourism, road access is good with both of Portugal’s international airports, and a main line rail service, easily accessible.
