Land Registry & Notary Fees in Portugal
Provisional Registration (Before the Deed)
Before the final property deed is signed, you can secure your transaction by applying for provisional registration of purchase and mortgage at the Land Registry Office (Conservatória do Registo Predial) through a notary.
- Validity: Provisional registrations expire 6 months after the application date.
- Final Conversion: After the deed is signed, the notary will process the definitive registration, replacing the provisional one.
Fees & Charges
All Land Registry services are subject to fees, calculated based on:
- The number of descriptions, registrations, annotations, and pages in the deed.
- The type of transaction (e.g., new registration, mortgage cancellation, etc.).
